Application for Screening Event at Soundtrack_Cologne 23 AcadeMeet 2026
Project Description:
IMMSANE is hosting a screening event as part of AcadeMeet at Soundtrack_Cologne 23 (14 - 17 July 2026) and is seeking 10 short films scored by students members IMMSANE (institutional and individual) to be screened at a moderated event during the festival on 16 July 2025. The event will provide an opportunity to showcase the film music talent of student IMMSANE members, and is part of larger events designed at Soundtrack_Cologne student-oriented AcadeMeet/IMMSANE partnership events, including matchmaking events, this screening event, an IMMSANE café, and other AcadeMeet events. The event is limited to 10 short films, each between 3 - 8 minutes in length.
Participant students must attend the screening in person, as there is an introduction and Q&A during the event, and any expenses for participation at Soundtrack_Cologne should be covered by the participant, or institution (however, remember there are accreditation discounts provided for IMMSANE members, and their students)
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for a short films that will create a diverse programme of IMMSANE student talent. The length of each submission should not exceed 8 minutes, but it may be possible to submit a slightly longer film for consideration if there is space in the programme. The films chosen for the programme will be selected based on quality of scoring, quality of the complete film/scoring, balance between IMMSANE member institutions/individuals, diversity of programming, and appropriateness to the event.
Each individual IMMSANE member may submit only one film for consideration. All applicants must have an active IMMSANE Blackboard profile for verification purposes.
The deadline for submissions is until 2 June 2026.
The films should be cleared by the producers/directors for screening at the festival ahead of submission, and a high-quality screener format must be provided by 16 June 2026.
We encourage professors of IMMSANE institutions to nominate student films, and to enable participation at the event, as these event aim to provide high-quality exposure for IMMSANE member students, especially those nearing graduation.
